Increased Income of Livestock Farmer
It was tiresome and exhaustive to pump water from hand pump to water 6 pigs for Ms. Anila Dura of Bagai, Madi, Chitwan . Pigs re-quire water for a variety of reasons, including most metabolic func-tions, adjustment of body temperature, movement of nutrients into the body tissues, removal of metabolic waste, production of milk, and for growth and reproduction. An adult pig consumes 12-15 li-ters of water/day. Ms. Dura sighs in pain as she recollects her diffi-cult days. “ I and my husband had to spend around 4 hours to pump water from a hand pump. Cleaning slurry and bathing pigs was fa-tiguing back then”, says Ms. Dura.
