Orientation to CCT cooks
FHI360 (United States), Winrock International (United States), Winrock International (Nepal) and Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC)are jointly undertaking the WASHplus Nepal Cookstove Study with the financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project will assess consumer needs, preferences and willingness to pay for cookstoves. Under this study, various tests and surveys will be conducted including Controlled Cooking Test (CCT), Kitchen Performance Test (KPT), and Trials of Improved Practices (TIPS trial) on different models of Improved Cooking Stoves (ICS) in 144 households across Dang, Nawalparasi and Dolakha districts of Nepal.
Winrock International organized an orientation program on 29 December, 2014 for selected cooks for CCT test which will be performed in different ICS (Prakti, Greenway Jumbo, Eco Chula, Zunda, Mud ICS, etc). During the orientation program, 10 selected cooks (5 each from Tanahu and Kavre district) and biomass energy engineers from regional service centers of AEPC were given brief information about the project, involvement of CCT cooks and ICS operation techniques. The selected cooks will be practicing on different ICS before performing the CCT in the Renewable Energy Test Station (RETS) of AEPC.
