Workshop on Sharing Business Models and Scaling up Mini Grids in Asia and Pacific
The workshop was organized with an objective of sharing best practices of the most promising models for scaling up Mini Grid systems in selected developing member countries (DMCs) and showcase how Mini Grid barriers can be addressed offering a way forward for deploying successful models at scale. In addition, this workshop looked at identifying and detailing the key components of a private sector led mini-grid program required to achieve an attractive investment profile for both financiers and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)- Energy service companies (ESCOs); and which can be deployed at a scale that can significantly impact the access to energy scenario across South Asia.A total of 216 participants from 14 different countries and various sectors such as International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs), multilateral agencies, private sectors, banks, academia and government attended the program.
