Winrock International is a nonprofit organization that works with people in the United States and around the world to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity, and sustain natural resources. Win-rock is a lead partner in this project and is responsible for overall project management, coordinate the creation of the public-private partnership (PPP), including design and con-struction of compost plant and lead the advocacy activities at the national level. Namsaling Community Development Center (NCDC) is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization based in Ilam. Established in 1985 AD with a objective of ‘Creating self-reliant, equitable and inclusive societies’ by directing energies towards sustainable development prac-tices. In this project NCDC is responsible for social mobiliza-tion and awareness raising programs at community and household level.Click here to visit website


Ilam Municipality was established in 1958 AD and is one of the oldest municipalities of Nepal. Ilam Munici-pality is incorporated under Local Self Governance Act, 1999 and reports to Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development. Ilam Municipality provides services related to Physical Development, Water Resources, Environment and Sanitation, Education and Culture, Transport, Social Welfare to its residents. Ilam Municipality under this project is one of the prime investor of the compost plant and will facilitate and endorse new rules related to solid waste management.Click here to visit website
