World Environment Day , 5^th June, 2015 was celebrated in Ilam Municipality with the slogan, “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care”. This day is also marked as first day of 16th National Sanitation Week. To celebrate this day a campaign was organized and actively participated by DWASH-CC(District Water Sanitation and Hygiene Coordination Committee) Ilam and SWITCH-Asia project - PPP for 4Gs (Ilam Municipality, Winrock International, PlaNet FiNance and NCDC). Various district level organizations including security force (Nepal Army, APF) participated in the program. About 200 people participated in various activities held during this day.

Activities performed during this day:

> T-shirts printed with the slogan of World Environment Day along with the project name (SWITCH-Asia project - PPP for 4Gs) and its partner were distributed  
>Participants cleaned core market area and different religious places of Ilam Municipality Ward no. 1 and 2 in the sanitation campaign.
>Brooms and gloves supported by SWITCH-Asia Project was provided.
