Field visit and stakeholders meeting by Technical Expert Mr. Nabin Bikash Maharjan

Waste Management Expert Mr. Nabin Bikash Maharjan visited field from 14th June to 17th June, 2017.

 

Mr Nabin Bikash Maharjan has profound experience of more than 17 years in waste management. He has assessed and monitored of “Community based solid waste management” and “household waste management” projects at Ward no 12, 20, 5 and 19, of Kathmandu Municipality through the technical guidance in support of Kathmandu Valley Mapping Programme. He has designed and developed resource materials to promote the Public Private Partnership programs on solid waste management in Kathmandu Municipality. Likewise, Mr Mahatjan provided technical support to Radha Krishna Tole Sudhar Samittee, Jorpati regarding community based chamber type composting system with collection system. A successful project that followed the design of household type composting bin, which is now adopted by the Kathmandu Municipality and imitated by other municipalities in Nepal. Additionally, Mr. Maharjan provided training on “Solid waste management and composting training for the representatives of different NGOs in Itahari, Sunsari that being conducted under project of SEAM-N (Bilateral Project with the Government of Finland and Nepal Government) as technical consultant. He has been managing complete Solid Waste Management of Hospitality Industries (Hotel Yak and Yeti, Hyatt Regency Kathmandu) since August 2014 through BW2V and managing GREEN CIRCLE, a programme that specialized on waste papers and managing of more than 20 different institutional and commercial establishments with environment friendly systems of Recycling and Reusing since February 2015.

 

Mr. Maharjan visited collection route, landfill site, construction site of shed and held interaction meeting with all the relevant stakeholders including Ilam Municipality and developed assessment and forwarded findings to provide technical assistance.
