The Carbon Fair

What it is
At the outset of Nepal being a party to the Kyoto Protocol, MOEST along with ADB and Winrock International, is organizing a Carbon Fair in Kathmandu as part of the Phase II activities of the Promotion of Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Abatement (PREGA) Project.
Who will participate
Carbon credits buyers, CDM projects validators, local CDM project developers and other stakeholders will be invited to take part in this fair. MOEST will also present the structure of the Nepalese DNA and its approval process during the fair.
The outcome
This will be a unique opportunity for the major stakeholders (the sellers, the buyers, the DNA) as well as the validators to learn more about each other's terms and conditions and exchange information. Such an event will also help create awareness on global perspectives on carbon financing and get to know of other players in the sector. This will also be an appropriate forum to inform buyers around the world that there are various attractive CDM projects and an amicable environment in Nepal where they can come and invest.
