Capacity Building of Media persons for hydropower Development in Nepal
Royal Norwegian Embassy Kathmandu and Winrock International Nepal, in collaboration with Forum for Energy Journalists of Nepal (FEJON) have successfully conducted two days Training Workshop on "Capacity Building of Media persons for hydropower Development in Nepal" in Pokhara on November 20th and 21st. There were 22 participants from different media organizations in the western development region. Four of the participants were female. For many of the participants, this was their first exposure to presentations on hydropower development and other energy issues.
It is believed that the training program was successful to equip Nepalese journalists with information and knowledge to enable them to accurately and impartially report about current happenings and debates related to hydropower development in Nepal. The training program is scheduled to be organized in other regions of the country by the end of December 2005.
